A
ridge of high pressure is bringing mainly
fine weather to southeastern China. Meanwhile,
showers are affecting the northwestern part of the South China Sea.
Sanvu has intensified into a severe tropical storm. At 10 p.m., Sanvu was centred about 870 kilometres south-southwest of Iwo Jima. It is forecast to move northwest at about 14 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the seas south of Japan.
Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow
Mainly cloudy overnight. Sunny periods tomorrow with one or two showers later. Temperatures will range between 25 and 29 degrees. Moderate to fresh easterly winds, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground at first.
