A northeast monsoon affected southern China today. Locally, there were sunny periods with haze. Visibility over Chek Lap Kok once fell below 5000 metres. A ridge of high pressure is expected to bring mainly fine weather to southeastern China in the next few days.
At 11 p.m., the tropical depression over Beibu Wan was centred about 250 kilometres southeast of Hanoi. It is forecast to move west at about 12 kilometres per hour edging closer to Vietnam.
