A weak ridge of high pressure is bringing a moderate easterly airstream to southern China.
At 4 p.m., the tropical depression to the east of the Philippines was centred about 580 kilometres east-northeast of Manila. It is forecast to move northwest at about 14 kilometres per hour across the seas east of Luzon.
