The Observatory enhanced the Weather Information Service
for South China Coastal Waters

The Hong Kong Observatory commenced today (6 June 2007) to provide an additional bulletin of Weather Information for South China Coastal Waters at 9:30 a.m., with the number of bulletins increasing from 6 to 7 times a day. This further enhances marine weather services and meets the evolving needs of fishermen.

The newly added bulletin will be broadcast in Cantonese on the 8812 kHz radio channel, Radio 5 of Radio Television Hong Kong (AM 783 kHz) and Commercial Radio 1 (FM 88.1-89.5 MHz) between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. daily. The weather bulletin will also be available on the Observatory's "1878200 Dial-a-Weather System" and website
(http://www.weather.gov.hk/wxinfo/currwx/ffish.htm).

For details of the Weather Information for South China Coastal Waters and its broadcast schedule, please browse the Observatory's webpage
