  • The Observatory joining the "Annual Conference on Disaster Preparedness and Response 2018: Emerging Challenges and Opportunities Ahead"

At the invitation of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Disaster Preparedness and Response Institute, the Observatory presented a talk titled "Global warming and its implication for Hong Kong" at the "Annual Conference on Disaster Preparedness and Response 2018: Emerging Challenges and Opportunities Ahead" on 13 January 2018. The talk reviewed the latest situation of global climate change and highlighted the Observatory's effort in enhancing community preparedness and resilience against the threats of more frequent extreme weather brought by climate change through its forecasting and warning services as well as its public education activities.
