Sixteen members of the European Union consular group visited the Observatory on 16 December 2010. The group consisted of consular members from Belgium, France, Finland, Germany, Greece, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the European Union. Dr Lee Boon-ying, the Director, briefed the guests on the work of the Observatory. This was followed by a guided tour of the Central Forecasting Office, the Television Studio, the Seismology and Time Services Office and the History Room of the Observatory. The guests were much impressed by the services provided by the Observatory and on the application of science and technology in serving the public.
