The Observatory awarded in 2008 "Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence" Competition
The Hong Kong Observatory was awarded a Certificate of Merit in the Public Sector and NGOs Sectoral Awards Competition in a presentation ceremony on 27 March 2009. Organized by the Hong Kong Awards for Environmental Excellence (HKAEE), this award is a recognition of the Observatory's good performance in green management and commitment towards environmental protection.
The HKAEE is a merger of three former government initiated schemes, namely the Hong Kong Eco-Business Awards, the Wastewi$e Scheme and the Hong Kong Energy Efficiency Awards. There were 366 entries in the 2008 Sectoral Awards Scheme competition.
