The trough of low pressure affecting the northern part of the South China Sea will edge closer to the coast of Guangdong gradually and bring unsettled weather to the region.

At 8 p.m., Typhoon Sanvu was centred about 200 kilometres southwest of Iwo Jima. It is forecast to move north or north-northeast at about 16 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the seas east of Japan.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Cloudy with a few showers. Showers will increase tomorrow. Temperatures will range between 26 and 29 degrees. Moderate easterly winds, occasionally fresh offshore at first.
