South China Coastal Waters

Warnings:
Strong winds in Nan'ao and Shanwei.

Weather Situation:
An easterly airstream is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

The area of low pressure near Luzon has intensified into a
tropical depression.

At 8 p.m., the tropical depression with maximum sustained
winds of about 55 kilometres per hour near its centre was
located at 15.9 degrees north, 122.7 degrees east, it is
forecast to move northwest at about 15 kilometres per hour
across the vicinity of Luzon.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
East force 4 to 5.
Scattered showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Nan'ao and Shanwei:
East force 4 to 5, occasionally force 6.
Scattered showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate to rough seas.

South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
East force 4 to 5.
Scattered showers and squally thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
East to northeasterly winds of force 4 to 5, occasionally
force 6, becoming cyclonic winds of up to force 10 in east
later. Frequent heavy squally showers and thunderstorms.
