Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong
Observatory.

A southerly airstream and upper-air disturbances brought
showers to Guangdong and the northern part of the South
China Sea yesterday. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with a
few showers and thunderstorms. There were more showers in
some areas with more than 10 millimetres of rainfall
recorded. There were sunny intervals during the day.
Besides, Super Typhoon Bavi weakened into a severe typhoon
last night. Its outer subsiding air is expected to bring
mainly fine and extremely hot weather to Guangdong today to
Sunday. High temperatures may also trigger showers.

At 11 p.m. last night, Bavi was centred about 940 kilometres
southeast of Taibei. It is forecast to move northwest at
about 18 kilometres per hour towards the seas east of
Taiwan, and then skirt north of Taiwan, edging closer to the
vicinity of southern Zhejiang to northern Fujian.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Friday, 10 Jul 2026)

Cloudy periods and one or two showers in the morning and at
night. The minimum temperature will be about 28 degrees.
Fine and very hot with some haze during the day. The maximum
temperature will be around 33 degrees in the urban areas,
and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Light
to moderate south to southwesterly winds. There will be
swells later.

Outlook : Extremely hot in some areas apart from one or two
showers over the weekend. There will be swells on Saturday.
Windier offshore later on Saturday to at first on Sunday.
The weather will become unsettled in the following couple of
days.
