Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong
Observatory.

An anticyclone aloft is bringing very hot weather to
Guangdong. Meanwhile, thundery showers triggered by high
temperatures are affecting inland Guangdong. Locally,
temperatures over most parts of the territory rose to 33
degrees or above in the afternoon.

At 4 p.m., Typhoon Mekkhala was centred about 580 kilometres
south-southwest of Okinawa. It is forecast to move
north-northeast at about 14 kilometres per hour towards the
vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Becoming cloudy. Sunny periods and a few showers tomorrow.
The minimum temperature will be about 29 degrees. Very hot
during the day with a maximum temperature of around 33
degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher
in the New Territories. Isolated thunderstorms later.
Moderate southwesterly winds.

Outlook : The weather will become unsettled on Friday. There
will be showers and thunderstorms over the weekend. Sunny
intervals and still a few showers in the following couple of
days.
