Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. The intense thundery showers associated with an active southerly airstream affected Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea yesterday. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with occasional showers and severe squally thunderstorms. Showers were heavy in the morning and at night. More than 60 millimetres of rainfall were generally recorded over the territory. The active southerly airstream and upper-air disturbances are expected to continue bringing showers and squally thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong today and tomorrow. Besides, Tropical Storm Maysak weakened progressively yesterday, and dissipated over Hunan at night. Weather forecast for Hong Kong (Tuesday, 7 Jul 2026) Mainly cloudy with occasional showers and severe squally thunderstorms. Showers will be heavy at times. Temperatures will range between 25 and 30 degrees. Moderate to fresh southerly winds, occasionally strong offshore and on high ground. Outlook : The weather will remain unsettled on Wednesday. Showers will be heavy in some areas at first. Showers will ease off and it will become fine in the latter part of this week. It will be extremely hot in some areas on Friday and Saturday.
