Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. An active southwesterly airstream brought showers and thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong and the northern part of the South China Sea yesterday. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with occasional showers. Showers were heavy at times. More than 50 millimetres of rainfall were generally recorded over the territory, and rainfall even exceeded 70 millimetres over parts of the New Territories and Hong Kong Island. The active southwesterly airstream is expected to continue affecting the coast of Guangdong today and tomorrow. Weather forecast for Hong Kong Mainly cloudy with occasional showers and a few squally thunderstorms. Showers will be heavy at times at first. Temperatures will range between 26 and 29 degrees. Moderate south to southwesterly winds, occasionally fresh offshore. Outlook : Showers will be heavier in some areas on Friday. Still a few showers from the weekend to early next week.
