Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. The weather was generally fine and extremely hot over southern China yesterday. Showers triggered by high temperatures also affected the region. Locally, the weather was fine and very hot. Temperatures over many places rose to 34 degrees or above in the afternoon, but there were isolated showers. A broad trough of low pressure is expected to bring unsettled weather to the northern part of the South China Sea today. Besides, Typhoon Bavi weakened into a tropical storm progressively yesterday. At 11 p.m. last night, Bavi was centred about 80 kilometres east-northeast of Hefei. It is forecast to move north or north-northwest at about 14 kilometres per hour across eastern China and weaken gradually. Weather forecast for Hong Kong Becoming cloudy with a few showers. The minimum temperature will be about 28 degrees. Very hot with sunny periods during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 33 degrees. Isolated thunderstorms later. Moderate south to southeasterly winds. Outlook : Showers will be heavy at times with squally thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday. The weather will remain unsettled in the latter part of this week.
