Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. A broad trough of low pressure is bringing showers to the northern part of the South China Sea and the coast of Guangdong. Locally, more than 10 millimetres of rainfall were recorded over many places this morning. The tropical depression over Beibu Wan has intensified into a tropical storm. At noon, the tropical storm was centred about 200 kilometres west-northwest of Haikou. It is forecast to be slow-moving, lingering over Beibu Wan. Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight Mainly cloudy with a few showers. Bright periods in the afternoon. Light to moderate southerly winds. Outlook : A few showers tomorrow, and hot during the day. More showers in some areas later on Sunday. Showers and squally thunderstorms in the following couple of days, windier in some areas.
