Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. The subtropical ridge is bringing generally fine and very hot weather to southeastern China. Locally, temperatures over the territory generally rose to about 33 degrees in the afternoon. At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Mekkhala was centred about 1140 kilometres east of Manila. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour across the seas east of the Philippines and intensify gradually. Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow Mainly fine. The minimum temperature will be about 28 degrees tomorrow morning. Very hot during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 33 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Moderate south to southwesterly winds. Outlook : Mainly fine in the following couple of days. Very hot during the day. A few showers in the latter part of this week.
