Launch of New Version 2.0 of "MyObservatory" for Android

The Hong Kong Observatory (HKO) launched a new Android version (2.0) of "MyObservatory" today (12 December 2011) to enhance weather services for people on the move. The new version features the following new functions: User selectable default screen for 7-day or local weather forecast Weather tips for the public when weather warnings are in force Display of today's weather warnings Radiation information Predicted tide charts The personalized weather service "MyObservatory", launched by the HKO in March 2010, has been well-received with increasing popularity. The total number of page views since its launch has exceeded 1.7 billion by end of November 2011.
