A cold front moved across the coastal areas of Guangdong yesterday. The associated northeast monsoon affected the region gradually. Locally, it was mainly cloudy with a few light rain patches. Temperatures over the territory at night were generally two to three degrees lower than those of the day before. With the northeast monsoon and its replenishment persisting, it will be cool in the morning and at night over southern China this week. A broad band of clouds will bring cloudy weather to the coast of Guangdong in the next couple of days.

Besides, the tropical depression over the southern part of the South China Sea intensified into a tropical storm yesterday morning and was named Kirogi. At 11 p.m. last night, Kirogi was centred about 510 kilometres east of Ho Chi Minh City. It is forecast to move west or west-northwest at about 22 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the southern part of Vietnam.
