New Meteorological Satellite Image Product
on Hong Kong Observatory Website

The Observatory launches today (30 August 2006) a new product of visible satellite imagery on its website. The new images liken the black-and-white photos captured from space in day time. The picture resolution of visible images is higher than those of infra-red images. This enables visible images to show more detailed structure of clouds.
