The Star Ferry wind station is located at the southern tip of the Kowloon peninsula (please see the map below for the location of the wind station).  To its south is Hong Kong Island, while there are high-rise buildings to its north and northeast.  The station is therefore more exposed to winds from the east and west, as revealed in the annual wind rose for the station.
