Delegation from Civil Aviation Administration of China visited the Observatory

A five-member delegation from the Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB) of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), comprising meteorological experts from both the headquarters and regional air traffic management bureaus, visited the Hong Kong Observatory on 2-3 July 2025. During the visit, the two parties discussed the operations of the Asian Aviation Meteorological Centre and exchanged views on the latest developments in international aviation meteorology. They also explored opportunities to enhance collaboration in critical areas, including forecasting techniques for aviation hazardous weather, meteorological support for air traffic flow management, meteorological data exchange, etc.The delegation toured the Airport Meteorological Office and Meteorological Garden located at the Hong Kong International Airport, gaining in-depth understanding of the Observatory's aviation weather services. The visit will foster closer collaboration between the two parties in the future.
