Summary of Environmental Radiation Monitoring in Hong Kong 2024

The “Summary of Environmental Radiation Monitoring in Hong Kong 2024” has been published. It incorporates salient features of the work of the environmental radiation monitoring programme of the Hong Kong Observatory during 2024, including a brief report on measurement methods and results, highlights of relevant new work and changes.

Based on the measurement results in 2024, it is concluded that there was no significant change in the ambient radiation levels in Hong Kong as well as the activities of artificial radionuclides in the environmental samples and foodstuffs consumed by Hong Kong people, as compared with those before the operations of the Daya Bay and Lingao nuclear power stations.
