Observatory Launches "Real-time Ionospheric Scintillation Monitoring" Webpage

Lam Ming-chun

On 26 September 2025, the Observatory launched the "Real-time Ionospheric Scintillation Monitoring " webpage, providing real-time data on ionospheric scintillation recorded at the King's Park Meteorological Station. This enables the public to monitor local ionospheric scintillation conditions and assess the potential impacts on satellite operations including positioning and communication. This service will assist specific user groups, such as operators of small unmanned aircrafts, planning and making assessment more effectively.
