Solar Bollard Lights

Environmental protection and sustainable development have always been a very important issue of the Hong Kong Observatory and we have been working hard to reduce energy consumption. For this purpose, we have implemented various measures such as the use of digital timer for power socket and motion-sensor for the lighting devices in the staircase, etc. The use of renewable energy can reduce the consumption of energy and at the same time avoid damages to the environment. Therefore, the Hong Kong Observatory has, with the assistance of the Architectural Services Department, recently installed five sets of solar bollard lights to replace some of the existing column lights in the Hong Kong Observatory Headquarters. By so doing, we would further reduce our energy consumption and help contribute to environmental protection.
