Director of Drainage Services, Mr CHAN Chi-chiu, JP, visited the Observatory

Director of Drainage Services, Mr CHAN Chi-chiu, JP,led a delegation of a total of 10 members of directorates and engineers to visit the Observatory on 30 March 2011. Colleagues of the Observatory briefed Mr CHAN Chi-chiu and his colleagues on the Observatory's work on climate change studies and rainfall nowcasting techniques. This was followed by a guided tour of the Central Forecasting Office, the Television Studio, the Earthquake and Time Services Division and the History Room of the Observatory. After the tour, a meeting was held to exchange views and experiences on the operations of the two departments. Over the years, Drainage Services Department and the Observatory have been working closely in tackling and reducing flood risk in Hong Kong. The visit will further strengthen the future cooperation between the two departments.
