Delegation of Korea Aviation Meteorological Agency (KAMA) visiting the Observatory

A group of 3 delegates of KAMA , led by its Director of Information and Technology Support Division Mr. JO Gi-Hyun, visited the Hong Kong Observatory on 18 and 19 October 2011 . They shared with Observatory staff experiences in the provision of aviation weather service, such as aviation weather information for flight crew and operators, windshear detection and alerting, and the processing of meteorological observational data. They also visited the Airport Meteorological Office and a LIght Detection And Ranging (LIDAR) site at the Hong Kong International Airport. The visit strengthened the tie between KAMA and the Observatory. In particular, exploration would be made on further cooperation and technical exchange between the two parties in the future.
