As the tide station and related facilities in Waglan Island were devastated during the strike of Severe Typhoon Mangkhut in 2018, real-time tide data of this station will be unavailable until further notice.

The tide gauge at Tai Po Kau was temporarily relocated to around 18 metres south-southwest of the original site on 30 November 2022
due to reconstruction work of the tide station.
