Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. An anticyclone aloft is bringing generally fine and very hot weather to southeastern China. Locally, temperatures over many places in the New Territories rose to about 33 degrees around noon. At noon, Severe Typhoon Mekkhala was centred about 770 kilometres east-northeast of Manila. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 14 kilometres per hour across the seas east of the Philippines and continue to intensify. Weather forecast for this afternoon and tonight It will be fine. Very hot in the afternoon. Moderate south to southwesterly winds. Outlook : Mainly fine and persistently very hot in the next couple of days. A few showers in the latter part of this week.
