9-Day Weather Forecast General Situation: Tropical Cyclone Mitag will edge closer to the coast of eastern Guangdong and intensify gradually today. Under the influence of the northeast monsoon, Mitag will then turn westwards, moving closer to the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary. It will be windy with squally showers and thunderstorms over the region today and tomorrow. With Mitag departing, the weather will improve briefly and will be very hot early next week. Tropical Cyclone Ragasa over the western North Pacific to the east of the Philippines is expected to intensify significantly in the next few days, and enter the northern part of the South China Sea early next week. It will then edge closer to the coast of southern China. Under the influence of its broad circulation, the weather over the region will deteriorate significantly with winds strengthening again midweek next week. There will be heavy squally showers, thunderstorms and storm surge. Seas will be very rough with swells.
