Weather Situation: At 8 p.m., Typhoon Podul with maximum sustained winds of about 120 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 23.4 degrees north, 119.1 degrees east. It is forecast to move west-northwest at about 28 kilometres per hour across the Taiwan Strait, and then edge closer to the vicinity of southern Fujian to eastern Guangdong. Area forecasts for the next 24 hours Hong Kong Adjacent Waters: South to southwest force 5 to 6. Frequent heavy squally showers and thunderstorms. Moderate to rough seas.
