South China Coastal Waters

By the Hong Kong Observatory at 7:50 a.m. on 23 May 2025 

Weather Situation:
A southerly airstream is affecting the south China coastal
waters. Besides, a trough of low pressure is affecting the
northern part of southern China, and is expected to edge
closer to the coastal areas later today.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
South force 4.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Nan'ao and Shanwei:
South to southwest force 4.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
South force 4.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Moderate seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
Southerly winds of force 4 to 5, becoming east to
northeasterly winds of  up to force 6. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms.
