South China Coastal Waters

Warnings:
Strong winds in all areas.

Weather Situation:
The northeast monsoon is affecting the south China coastal
waters.

At 11 p.m., Tropical Storm Fung-wong with maximum sustained
winds of about 65 kilometres per hour near its centre was
located at 22.5 degrees north, 121.2 degrees east. It is
forecast to move northeast at about 30 kilometres per hour
towards the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands and transform
into an extratropical cyclone gradually.

Area forecasts for the next 24 hours

Hong Kong Adjacent Waters:
North force 4 to 5, occasionally force 6.
Moderate to rough seas.

Nan'ao:
North to northeast force 6 to 7.
Isolated showers and thunderstorms.
Rough seas.

Shanwei, South of Hong Kong and Shangchuan Dao:
North force 5 to 6.
Moderate to rough seas.

Outlook for the following 48 hours 
North to northeasterly winds of force 5 to 6, occasionally
force 7.
