Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong
Observatory.

Heavy showers and squally thunderstorms associated with
upper-air disturbances affected Guangdong yesterday.
Locally, the weather was mainly cloudy with occasional
showers. Showers were heavy at times with thunderstorms in
the morning. More than 50 millimetres of rainfall were
recorded over widespread areas, and rainfall even exceeded
100 millimetres over many parts of the New Territories.
There were bright periods in the afternoon. With the
upper-air disturbances departing, showers are expected to
ease off gradually during the day and the weather will
improve over the Guangdong today.

Weather forecast for Hong Kong

Mainly cloudy. Occasional showers and a few squally
thunderstorms at first. Showers will be heavier in some
areas. The minimum temperature will be about 27 degrees.
Showers will ease off and it will be hot with sunny periods
during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 31
degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher
in the New Territories. Moderate southerly winds.

Outlook : Hot with sunny periods over the weekend to Monday,
but there will still be isolated showers.
