Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong
Observatory.

An anticyclone aloft is bringing generally fine weather to
the coast of western Guangdong and the northern part of the
South China Sea. Up to last night, the minimum temperature
recorded at the Observatory was 28.0 degrees or above for 6
consecutive days, equaling the longest consecutive hot
nights on record in May. Besides, showers and thunderstorms
associated with a trough of low pressure are affecting
inland Guangdong.

At 8 a.m., Tropical Storm Jangmi was centred about 1400
kilometres south-southeast of Okinawa. It is forecast to
move northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour across the
western North Pacific to the east of the Philippines and
intensify gradually.

Weather forecast for today

Mainly fine. Extremely hot during the day. The maximum
temperature will be around 35 degrees in the urban areas,
and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories.
Becoming cloudy with a few showers and isolated squally
thunderstorms later. Light to moderate west to southwesterly
winds.

Outlook : More showers at first tomorrow. High temperature
weather will be alleviated. Sunny periods and a few showers
on Sunday. Becoming very hot in the following couple of
days.
