Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. Showers and thunderstorms associated with a trough of low pressure are affecting Guangdong. A band of intense thundery showers is moving towards the vicinity of the Pearl River Estuary gradually. At 4 p.m., Severe Tropical Storm Mekkhala was centred about 240 kilometres southwest of Okinawa. It is forecast to move northeast at about 18 kilometres per hour across the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands. Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Higos was centred about 1100 kilometres southeast of Okinawa. It is forecast to move northwest at about 30 kilometres per hour across the western North Pacific. Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow Mainly cloudy with a few showers and squally thunderstorms. Showers will be heavier in some areas. Sunny intervals tomorrow morning. Temperatures will range between 28 and 32 degrees. Moderate southwesterly winds. Outlook : There will be showers and squally thunderstorms over the weekend. Showers will be heavier in some areas.
