9-Day Weather Forecast General Situation: Upper-air disturbances will bring heavy showers and squally thunderstorms to the coast of Guangdong and the seas south of it today. The broad area of low pressure now over the central and northern parts of the South China Sea will develop gradually into a tropical cyclone today, and then move towards Hainan Island and the seas south of it. However, its intensity remains uncertain. Under the combined effect of the low pressure system and a ridge of high pressure over southeastern China, it will be windy with showers and squally thunderstorms over the northern part of the South China Sea and the coast of southern China today and tomorrow. There will be swells. With the departure of the low pressure system, the weather will improve slightly over the coast of Guangdong during the weekend. Another upper-air disturbance will bring showers to the coast of Guangdong early next week.
