9-Day Weather Forecast General Situation: The subtropical ridge will continue to bring generally fine and extremely hot weather to southern China tomorrow. The tropical cyclone now over the seas east of the Philippines will enter the northeastern part of the South China Sea in the next couple of days and intensify progressively, edging closer to the coast of eastern Guangdong over the weekend. However, there are still uncertainties in its landfall position and its distance from Hong Kong. It is expected to be windy with heavy squally showers and thunderstorms over the coast of Guangdong later on Saturday to Sunday. There will be swells. There will still be showers over the region early next week. A broad trough of low pressure will bring unsettled weather to the northern part of the South China Sea and the coast of Guangdong midweek next week.
