9-Day Weather Forecast General Situation: A trough of low pressure will linger over the coast of southern China to the northern part of the South China Sea in the next couple of days, bringing showers and squally thunderstorms to the region. With the subtropical ridge covering the coast of southeastern China, showers will ease off gradually and the weather will become very hot over Guangdong early to midweek next week. A broad trough of low pressure is expected to bring unsettled weather to the central and northern parts of the South China Sea in the latter part of next week. Besides, Tropical Cyclone Mekkhala will move across the vicinity of the Ryukyu Islands today, then edge closer to the southern part of Honshu of Japan, and Tropical Cyclone Higos will move towards the seas south of Japan today and tomorrow.
