Weather Situation: At 5 a.m., the tropical depression over the northeastern part of the South China Sea with maximum sustained winds of about 55 kilometres per hour near its centre was located at 19.3 degrees north, 119.4 degrees east. It is forecast to move northwest at about 18 kilometres per hour in the general direction of the coast of eastern Guangdong. Area forecasts for the next 24 hours Hong Kong Adjacent Waters: East to northeast force 4 to 5, becoming north up to force 6 later. Scattered showers and squally thunderstorms. Moderate seas, becoming rough later. Nan'ao and Shanwei: East to northeast force 5 to 6, becoming cyclonic force 9 later. Frequent heavy squally showers and thunderstorms.
