Exposure of Tsing Yi Wind Station

The Tsing Yi wind station is located inside the Shell Oil Depot on the western side of Tsing Yi (please see the map below for the location of the wind station).   While its west is unobstructed (facing Ma Wan Channel), there are mountains to its north and its east.  Due to the influence of local terrain, the station is more exposed to winds from the southeast and northwest sectors, as revealed in the annual wind rose for the station.
