Observatory Further Enhances Hong Kong Heat Index Information Service

Hong Kong’s summer is generally hot and humid. The “Hong Kong Heat Index” comprehensively reflects the combined effects of temperature, humidity, wind speed, and solar radiation. In April 2026, the Hong Kong Observatory further enhanced its “Hong Kong Heat Index” information service by introducing data for more regions, enabling the public to understand the heat stress conditions in different areas and take appropriate heatstroke prevention measures. In addition to King’s Park and Beas River, real-time data from eight new weather stations – Chek Lap Kok, Happy Valley, Hong Kong Observatory, Kau Sai Chau, Kowloon Bay, Sha Tin, Wetland Park, and Wong Chuk Hang – have been added. The public can refer to this information through the “Regional Weather in Hong Kong” webpage and the “MyObservatory” app.
