2026 Annual Weather Outlook
The Hong Kong Observatory has issued its annual outlook for 2026. It is expected that sea surface temperatures in the central and eastern equatorial Pacific Ocean will rise to normal to above-normal levels in spring, and the warming trend in the region will continue in the second half of the year, developing into an El Niño event. Latest Developments in Global Climate Change
According to the World Meteorological Organization’s “State of the Global Climate 2025” report, greenhouse gas concentrations have reached an all-time high. The atmospheric carbon dioxide concentration climbed to 423.9 ppm in 2024, surpassing the highest levels during the past 2 million years. (More……)
