Hong Kong Observatory participated in “Hong Kong Island Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Day 2025”

The Hong Kong Observatory participated in the “Hong Kong Island Disaster and Emergency Preparedness Day 2025” on 18 May 2025. This event was organised by the Fire Services Department, aiming at enhancing public awareness of disaster prevention and emergency preparedness capabilities. On the day of the event, the Observatory set up exhibitions and booth games at the Wan Chai Harbourfront to promote knowledge of radiation and nuclear emergency response, as well as the Observatory’s work on radiological survey and environmental sample collection. The exhibition booth attracted active public participation with over 3,000 visitors.
