Delegation from National Marine Environmental Forecasting Centre Visits the Observatory

Ms Kang Jian, Director-General of the National Marine Environmental Forecasting Centre (NMEFC) of the Ministry of Natural Resources, led a delegation of six experts to visit the Hong Kong Observatory on 12 March 2026, to discuss marine-related work and areas for future cooperation, including regional tsunami advisory in the South China Sea, the implementation of the Tsunami Ready Recognition Programme, the development of multi-hazard integrated marine forecasting, and the development of storm surge and wave forecasting technologies.
