Dickson Lau

From 3 to 6 March 2026, Mr Dickson Lau, Acting Principal Experimental Officer of the Hong Kong Observatory, led a four-person delegation to visit the Air Traffic Management Bureau of the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC ATMB), including the Aviation Meteorological Centre and the meteorological departments of Daxing and Xiamen. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation and exchanges in aviation meteorological services, focusing on artificial intelligence applications and innovative technologies. The delegation learnt about new developments in meteorological instruments in Daxing and observation field equipment in Xiamen. This trip provided an in-depth understanding of the operations of the aviation meteorological department in the Mainland, and demonstrated the commitment to long-term technical cooperation between both parties.
